The Art Of Massage
Out-call Massage Therapy
for Senior Citizens - Men and Women
On this page you can learn exercises to improve the health of your back and flexibility in general.
*Always consult with your doctor before attempting any form of exercise.
To gain the most benefits from your stretching, you must breathe deeply and regularly. Many people tend to hold their breath while they stretch. If you hold your breath, you likely won’t see major improvements in your flexibility, and you put yourself at risk for injury. When you inhale, your muscles - particularly those in your lower back -- naturally contract. This is because muscles in the abdomen and lower back help your diaphragm with the breathing process. When you exhale, these same muscles relax, making it easier to increase your stretch.
Try to keep a stretching position for 10-15 seconds for the start and add a couple of seconds every day. You will get the best results with stretching when you're able to keep a stretching position up to 1 minute.
I have used my massage table to be able to show you the exercises more clear but you should use a yoga mat and exercise on the floor.
